Ontario Genealogical Society, Toronto Branch presents: Special Lecture on Scottish Genealogy: Saturday, September 11, 2010 A special two-part lecture on Scottish Genealogy by Dr. Bruce Durie, noted author and course director of genealogical studies at the University of Strathclyde. Dr. Durie’s topic, "Inheritance and Law", will deal with Testaments (including "Wills"), Retours, Sasines, Charters and the other "hidden gems" of Scottish genealogy, and will also address basic issues in Palaeography and Latin. He will also suggest relevant resources (hard-to-find books on CD for example). 9:15 AM Registration opens 10:00 AM Lecture, Part 1 11:00 AM Break: Coffee and tea will be available at no charge 11:15 AM Lecture, Part 2 12:15 PM Adjournment LOCATION (map): By public transit: North York Memorial Community Hall is connected directly to the North York Centre subway station, on the Yonge line. The most convenient parking ($5 per day on Saturdays) is under the building—enter from Novotel on Park Home, or from Beecroft Road (parallel and west of Yonge Street).
