Research Services

Toronto Branch offers the following Research Services:

1. RESEARCH ENQUIRIES/LOOKUPS

Toronto Branch will undertake genealogy research look-ups, which could include a search of family history records such as available indexes; birth, marriage and death records; newspaper notices; census; church records; Toronto directories; cemetery transcriptions and burial records. Volunteers will also provide advice about how to do it for yourself.

2. CREDIT RIVER ELECTRONIC SEARCH SERVICES

Effective from October 1st, 2011 we suspended this service due to the death of Sandra Moore but now two volunteers have been trained to carry out new inquiry requests.

Branch volunteers have compiled a large database of records from historic York County. These include births, baptisms, marriages, and deaths, extracted from church registers, cemeteries, funeral homes, and newspapers. Details about the records will be re-added to the website in the near future. For a small fee, the database can be searched to identify records that may refer to your family.
