Genealogy Summer Camp 2008

Genealogy "Summer Camp" is a unique program that brings out-of-town family historians to Toronto for an intensive week of tutorials and hands-on research, with the guidance of local experts, at the many archives and reference libraries in Toronto. We keep the group small to allow lots of help from our local experts. We also welcome local researchers as "day-campers".

If you're coming from out-of-town, we encourage you to stay with the group at our designated hotel. It is close to the major library and archives, and we've negotiated an excellent rate for downtown Toronto.

Some tutorials will emphasize Toronto sources, but most repositories have holdings from a much broader area. Researchers with ancestors anywhere in Ontario will benefit from Summer Camp.

The 2008 Genealogy “Summer Camp” will be number 13! More than 90 participants from England, right across Canada and many US states have attended the 12 previous Summer Camps. Many "Campers" have come for two, three or more years. They've worked hard, and had some fun.

Summer Camp is scheduled for June 8 to 13, 2008.

The fee for 2008 is $210 (US dollars at par). This covers approximately 7 hours of lectures and tutorials, 30 hours of hands-on instruction, all worksheets and handouts, and public transportation to venues.
